Membership Criteria
USSPI insists that the following criteria be met for the newspapers we represent.

25% minimum editorial content - "hard" news of the local communities served.
100% audited circulation - ABC, CAC, VAC, CVC, or USPS audit.
Significant household coverage of the communities served.
Editorial content and make-up that meets professional standards.
An agreement from publishers to discount their open rates for national advertisers.
Publishing a minimum of once per week; 52 weeks per year.
Newspaper accepts SAU (Standard Ad Unit) sizes. Tabloids-5 column format; Broadsheets-6 column format.

We regularly monitor all papers and ads we place to insure that our papers meet our criteria and that ads are run per your instructions. Our Media Auditing Department verifies that your ad runs as requested. Consequently, the national advertiser can be sure of getting quality suburban coverage at a substantial discount.
